From Collaborators
"Jerone is a pro. He came out to join us on set as an extra for an indie film. We were behind schedule. He waited patiently for us, knowing that we might not even get to the scene. When we did shoot with him, he was great — energetic, on point and took all direction without hesitation."

Pledge Your Support
Our crowdfunding campaign launches soon. Tell us now how you’d like to help — a financial gift, goods or services, hands-on time, or simply spreading the word — so we can hit the ground running the day we go live.
Please note: This form does not collect money or process donations. It is a pre-campaign promise tracker only. Once the campaign is live, we’ll reach back out to see if you’d like to follow through on your pledge. Nothing here is binding, and no payment is taken.
Thank you — your pledge is logged. I’ll reach out once the campaign is live.

The Film
A father and son who have never met. Two cups of coffee. One conversation thirty years in the making.

An intimate two-hander about reconciliation, restraint, and the silences between people who share blood but not history. Chris has waited his whole life for this meeting. Derrell agreed to it without being sure of what he came to say.

It plays out in real time, in a single booth of a quiet diner — no exposition, just two men, a waitress refilling their cups, and everything they can’t yet bring themselves to ask. Truth, it turns out, is not the same as resolution.

Director’s Statement
Why I Wrote Coffee

COFFEE began as a thought experiment. I have never met my biological father. For most of my adult life, that absence has lived in me as a question I never quite let myself ask out loud — until I started writing this script. What would happen if I reached out? What would I feel walking into that room? What would he feel? What version of myself would I bring? What version of him would arrive?

COFFEE is the answer to those questions, played out in real time. It is not autobiography. It is not closure. It is what I imagine the beginning of that relationship might look like — performed, fragile, painfully alike, and impossible to resolve in a single sitting.

“So many of us — Black men especially — carry the weight of an absent father as silence. COFFEE puts two of those silences in a room together and watches what happens.”
— Jerone Arnold Darden, Writer & Director
The Roles
3 Roles · Director does not appear on camera
Lead
Chris
34 · Black Male
A son meeting his father for the first time. Anxious, quietly desperate, raised in the city. He has rehearsed this meeting for thirty years and still doesn’t know what he’s going to say.
Lead
Derrell
65 · Black Male
The father who left. Polished, guarded, suburban. He agreed to this meeting but isn’t sure why. He carries the guilt without naming it — and he is never the villain.
Supporting
Nancy
18–25 · Female · Any ethnicity
The waitress. Warm and easy, unaware of what’s unfolding at the table. Each refill gives the men permission to pause. A silent emotional witness.
Support & Get Involved
Independent · Pre-Production

This is an independent passion project; on-camera and crew compensation is currently limited / deferred as the film moves toward production and festival submission. Honesty up front matters more than a number on a page.

A crowdfunding campaign is coming soon. In the meantime, the most valuable support is in-kind: a location, gear, or your craft.

We're crewing up for a Fall 2026 shoot in the Lehigh Valley. Compensation is deferred as the film’s funding comes together, with credit, meals on set, and footage for your reel. Black and LGBTQ+ creatives are especially encouraged to apply.
Applications close July 10. Selections will be made by July 19. If you apply, keep an eye on your inbox — we’ll be in touch by email.
Thank you — your application is in. I’ll be in touch.

Behind the Lens
Headshots
Most people hate their headshot. Usually it isn't their face — it's that nobody directed them. Five New York Fashion Week seasons on the other side of the lens taught me exactly what it feels like to be abandoned in front of a camera. So I direct you, I show you the frame, and we work until you see yourself in it.
90-minute sessionfrom $150
Extended sessionfrom $275
Portraits
For people who want to be seen, not just documented. Performers, founders, families, milestones. Whatever you'd want on the wall, in the press kit, or in the hands of the people who love you. Directed start to finish — you're never standing there wondering what to do with your hands.
Hourly · 2hr minimumfrom $125
Half dayfrom $325
Event Photography
Fundraisers, galas, launches, festivals, conferences. I shoot the room the way it actually felt — the handshake in the corner, the speaker mid-sentence, the person laughing at a table nobody was watching. You get the shots the board needs, and the ones you'll still want in five years.
Hourly · 2hr minimumfrom $125
Half dayfrom $350
Full dayfrom $650
Fashion Show Coverage
Seventeen-plus runway shows walked, six New York Fashion Week seasons, and a crown. I know where the light dies, where the good frame is, and what a designer actually needs to see the morning after. Runway, backstage, front row.
Hourly · 2hr minimumfrom $150
Half dayfrom $400
Full dayfrom $700
Behind-the-Scenes
Unit stills and BTS for film sets, fashion backstage, and live events. I have stood backstage at New York Fashion Week and on the sets of A&E, Netflix, and Hulu productions. I know what a set demands, where to stand, and when to disappear — because I've been the one being photographed.
Half dayfrom $450
Full dayfrom $750

Film & Video Production
Narrative filmmaking, applied to your business. Most small-business video looks like small-business video. Studio JeADa builds it the way a film gets built — story first, then shot list, then camera. Brand films, founder stories, documentary, event films, and short vertical cuts. Full service: pre-production, direction, crew, edit, delivery.
Social short-formfrom $1,000
Event filmfrom $1,650
Brand filmfrom $2,600
Backstage Coordination
Run of show, talent flow, quick-change choreography, dresser oversight. I have been the model seventeen times — I know what talent needs before they ask for it — and I run operations at a venue that produces a ten-day, million-person festival every year. Very few people have both.
Per showfrom $350
Event operations · dayfrom $200
Before It Exists
Creative Direction
For brands who know what they want to feel but not yet what they want to make. The visual language: what it looks like, what it sounds like, what it refuses to look like. Campaign concepting, art direction, content strategy, and the taste to say no to the obvious version. I've built a film, a photography practice, and a clothing line out of nothing but a point of view. That's the service — a point of view, made concrete.
Strategy session · 90 minfrom $250
Shoot art direction · dayfrom $1,100
Campaign & identityfrom $1,800
Screenwriting & Story Development
Scripts, treatments, story bibles, and development — for film, television, branded content, and documentary. Five complete development packages built across feature, television, and short form, and a short film now in pre-production with cast locked. I know how to take something that only exists as a feeling and turn it into pages a crew can actually shoot.

On-camera and on-mic. Lead roles in Femme and Song From the Deep; featured and background across A&E, Netflix, and Hulu.
